On 8–9 October 2026, Karina Hoření presented her research at Freie Universität Berlin as part of CEECON 2026, the Congress of Central and East European Studies of the German Association for East European Studies (DGO).

Karina co-organized a panel with Veronika Warzycha from the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space and Maraike Vandergrift from Justus Liebig University Giessen. Entitled “Contested Spaces, Haunted Industries, and Sovereign Policies,” the panel explored memory, memory politics, and their intersections with political developments in Poland’s eastern, southern, and western borderlands.

This collaboration is an outcome of relationships previously established through a research seminar with Veronika Warzycha and is expected to continue in the future.
